God = Mystery... what the feminine path really teaches
I sometimes spend way longer than you might imagine thinking about the subject line of my articles… and this one had some strong contenders:
Busting spiritual myths.
Why I’m allergic to most of new age spirituality.
What law of attraction is WRONG about.
The Goddess doesn’t care about your productivity.
Pussy reveals all Truth.
The naughty, naughty left hand path.
Basically, I’ve got a lot of strong opinions about the feminine spiritual path, and I probably need to teach a 3‑hour masterclass on it, but for now, I’m brewing it into one strong elixir.
So let’s pour a cuppa and get into it.
(BTW, I'm teaching a lot more about this in my upcoming program Wild Mystica. Scroll to the bottom for a special invitation!)
I remember reading The Secret back in 2006 when it came out. You probably know the premise by now: thoughts become things, and you have to stay high vibe so you can attract good things.
Since then, new age spirituality has absolutely exploded, and brought many wonderful things with it.
Even the idea of a “feminine” spirituality has gone mainstream.
But let’s be honest: a lot of what you see out there is just wrong.
New age spirituality was supposed to free us from stuffy old institutional religions…
but a lot of it is just repackaged Christianity with different branding & it gets me on my Lillith shit (aka ragey).
The new age flavor of “think positive, stay high vibe, and you’ll get everything you want in life” is basically the same thing we were all taught in Sunday school - be “good” and you’ll get to go to heaven.
To put it clearly:
You don’t need to earn your blessings. You don’t need to be more perfect, more pure, or more positive to be worthy of what you want.
When I discovered the “feminine” spiritual path, I started doing feral shit like:
ritually working with my period blood,
tracking the moon and living in sync,
re-wilding my feeling body,
and practicing in an unbroken lineage of ancient tantric yoga (aka communing with the Goddess)
…and I got new eyes to see.
I got the feminine equivalent of being red pilled.
Once you see, you can’t unsee.
You don’t even have to go much beyond cyclical wisdom to notice where the new age love and light people are basically using spirituality to always move upwards and transcend the messy, raw human experience.
Let me try to say this gently… that’s not the fucking point.
The feminine path is different. It’s wild and ancient. And it will wreck you back open in the best way.
Here’s what the feminine path teaches…
Cyclical > linear.
The idea that we should always be expanding and moving forward and/or upward, is anti-nature, and anti-feminine. The feminine teaches us that death and darkness are no less valued and important than life.
The opposite of life is not death. The opposite of “life” is numbness, dissociation, and indifference. Death and darkness are very alive and very necessary to the creative process.
We’re on a spiral path of unfolding.
Nature also teaches us that we are on the path of evolution, meaning transformation, change, and development. There is some kind of “momentum towards” something. But it’s not an up and out path.
The word evolution actually means “to unroll” or “open out”... not like a shooting arrow, but like the petals of a rose.
What could be more feminine than the unfolding of life, the mystery, and the soul?! Opening out like the heart blooming… or a yoni getting turned on.
Evolution is cyclical: pulsing open and then contracting. Like birth. And orgasms. And seasons. And the natural fluctuations of the heart.
God = Mystery.
The point of this evolution and what we are moving towards, and indeed, what any of this means, is a Great Mystery and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling snake oil.
From the feminine perspective, the Mystery is also very alive. It is a realm with its own geography and physics and laws, and you can travel there (so to speak) and learn many secrets, most of which can only be understood in the depths of your own heart.
This might be one of the more important aspects of the feminine spiritual path… it is the pathless path.
It means journeying to the edge of your own understanding and peering down into the chasm. Your own gnosis is a WAY better trip than any drug or anything you can read in a book.
Embodiment > transcendence.
God seems to really enjoy incarnation. God himself incarnated in a body just to see what all the fuss is about.
God could change the game of duality any time… he/she could have us transcend this human mess any time.
God/dess could stop dancing herself into the thousand fractals of the manifest world and come back into oneness any time! But she doesn’t.
The Goddess is the divine embodied.
She is flesh, bones, and blood.
Not inert and purified spirit, but pulsing, erotic, incarnate aliveness.
She is offering herself freely to everything that can only be experienced in a body, in the realm of duality.
She is wanting, hungry, ecstatic, gushing, full, empty, dying, birthing, creating, destroying…
The Goddess is “yes!” to the full spectrum of the human experience.
A full, holy, gushing yes.
Your desire is sacred.
Desire was the spark that created the entire universe.
The feminine knows how to hold longing like a sacred chalice. She knows it leads the way.
There’s arguably nothing more feared, misunderstood, and repressed than feminine creative power, feminine eros, and feminine desire. We have a whole creation mythology centered around a woman’s desire leading to the fall of man (Adam + Eve)!
God, the universe, the creative force, wants to move from the unmanifest into form. We are participants in the great dance of creation.
Yet we’re taught in so many ways that our desires are dangerous and maybe even bad for us.
Many transcendence-based spiritualities teach this too - they say desire causes suffering…
even the new age people say if you want something you’re blocking its manifestation because you’re not focused on the state of having it already.
Bullshit!
Your longing is a magnetic creative force on its own. Desire is not the problem. It’s the inability to hold the energy of longing in the body and be with it in an artful way that trips people up.
If you’ve ever been put off by the pink goddess aesthetic or turned off by ascension-based spirituality, you’re in the right place.
You already know deep down what it would mean for you to truly access all of the power and magic the feminine holds.
You already know there’s no “right time”… you just have to decide that this is the season you become the woman you know you came here to be.
Imagine this:
You trust your creative impulses and let them lead you.
You alchemize fear and shadow into clarity and power.
You feel yourself in deep conversation with the soul of the world. And life starts responding.
The embodied feminine is the key to all of the creative power available to you.
If you’re ready to remember, this is your invitation to join me in Wild Mystica School of Feminine Arts and Embodied Leadership!
